Bach Prelude

Prelude BWV 1007: Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)

Although this piece was originally written for solo cello, transcriptions of Bachs cello suites have long been a staple of the guitar repertoire. Their lyrical beauty is well suited to the guitar. Indeed, in many ways theyre more difficult to play on the cello. Such is the respect cellists have for these pieces that Pablo Casals studied them for twelve years before he dared to play them in public.
