Judging from the three previous samples, you might guess that I’m only interested in my advanced students. But I’m equally pleased with beginners who show a genuine enthusiasm for music. This audio sample showcases a performance by a student of mine who was ten years old when we made this recording—she’d been playing guitar for only four months. Not only am I proud of her performance, but I’m also pleased that, on her own, she selected a song that she wanted to learn. By the way, I’m sure she’d want you to know she’s gotten better since we made this recording. In 2012 she was a national gold medalist in the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Development Program.
