Valse Op. 61, No. 3: Fernando Sor (guitar duet)

Spanish guitarist and composer Fernando Sor had a gift for melody, and composed many charming duets for two guitars. This joyous little valse is one of my favorites—it’s an early example of the waltz craze that would soon sweep through Europe in the mid 19th century. In this recording, I’m on first guitar and Krystin O’Mara, a former student of mine, is on second guitar.
