Krystin began studying with me when she was twelve. Since then she’s become a formidable player. In 2006, when she was 15, we made a CD of Christmas music arranged for two guitars. (You can find a selection from this CD on Youtube here.) She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees as a scholarship student at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, where she studied with Julian Gray. Currently she’s studying with Jason Vieaux at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Recently Krystin performed for the New Music Festival at Bowling Green State University in the world premiere of Martin Herchenröder’s “Landschaften” for two guitars and orchestra—this piece also was recorded for a 2013 release on Albany records.
