Colin began his studies with me at age ten. Since then he’s worked with Sharon Isbin at the Aspen Music Festival, studied five years at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Jason Vieaux, and earned his bachelor’s degree with William Kanengiser at the University of Southern California. He’s a two time finalist in the Guitar Foundation of America Competition, and appeared on the Guitars International Distinguished Artist Series in 2008 and 2013. Now at the outset of his concert career, Colin completed his master’s degree at The Juilliard School of Music in 2012. That same year he was selected to be the teaching assistant for Sharon Isbin at the Aspen Music Festival. Recently he was invited to perform and teach at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul. His debut CD was released in April of 2011—of it, American Record Guide wrote: “Mr. Davin is the real thing, a player with a virtuoso’s technique, a deeply expressive musicianship, and a probing imagination.”
