Colin began his studies with me at age ten. Since then he’s worked with Sharon Isbin at the Aspen Music Festival, studied five years at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Jason Vieaux, and earned his bachelor’s degree with William Kanengiser at the University of Southern California. He’s a two time finalist in the Guitar Foundation of America Competition, and appeared on the Guitars International Distinguished Artist Series in September 2008. Now at the outset of his concert career, Colin is completing his master’s degree at The Juilliard School of Music. For the summer in 2011 he’s been selected to be the teaching assistant for Sharon Isbin at the Aspen Music Festival. His debut CD was released in April of 2011—of it, American Record Guide wrote: “Mr. Davin is the real thing, a player with a virtuoso’s technique, a deeply expressive musicianship, and a probing imagination.”
